Introduction
Proteasomeassemblychaperone2(PSMG2)stimulatesassemblyofthe20SproteasomeaspartofaheterodimerwithPSMG1.ThePSMG1-PSMG2heterodimerbindstothePSMA5andPSMA7proteasomesubunitsandpromotescompilationoftheproteasomealphasubunitsintotheheteroheptamericalpharingandpreventsalpharingdimerization.PSMG2iswidelyexpressedwithhighestlevelsinthelung,brainandcolon.Itismoderatelyexpressedinthemuscle,stomach,spleenandheart,andweaklyexpressedinthesmallintestine,pancreasandliver.Itisalsohighlyexpressedinhepatocellularcarcinomaswithlowlevelsinsurroundinglivertissue.
